This one-day, FREE, educational, Introduction to Lymphoedema study day is designed for Health Care Professionals who are non-lymphoedema specialists or new to a role in Lymphoedema.

What will you learn?

  • Lymphoedema Basics: Key differences and causes, including primary, secondary, and drug-induced oedema.
  • Cellulitis & Inflammation: How to recognise and manage these conditions when they overlap with lymphoedema.
  • Assessment & Examination Skills: How to assess lymphoedema, use the 5 S score, and take accurate limb measurements.
  • Treatment Overview: Practical approaches to patient-centred care, self-care strategies, and weight management.
  • Skin Care & Exercise: Tips for preventing complications and introducing movement strategies for better outcomes.

Who should attend?

Health Care Professionals who: 

  • Have no prior Lymphoedema training e.g. GP's, District Nurses, Community Nurses, Pharmacists, Tissue Viability Nurses, Allied Health Care Professionals (AHP's) 
  • Are new to a role in Lymphoedema
  • May come into contact with those at risk of developing Lymphoedema e.g. Oncologists, GP's, Cancer Site Specific Nurse Specialists & AHP's. 
  • Have a special interest in learning more about Lymphoedema
